Archimedes’ Lever

 a quarry of calcium

went into my bones and teeth,

and several secret silicon deposits

were exploited on behalf of my nervous connections,

incredible quantities of water

were poured into my cells,

and the Earth’s crust was melted

to harvest all the carbon for my atoms,

a small diamond was added -

my inner firm spot

from where I could move the earth.

now I write,

and I breathe,

and I stumble through life,

oblivious to the location

of the minuscule diamond,

but hoping that the light

will fire it up

so I can raise myself.
