Half of My Brain

 

half of my brain fulfills life tasks,

while the other half writes poetry,

subtitling my every life experience

making me move through life ​

like an incognito witch

who carries her magic talismans

under the office clothes

​half of my brain sleeps,

while the other half writes poetry,

harnessing images and emotions

that erupt from my roots

like the foam rising up

in a pot with boiling meat and vegetables

half of my brain writes poetry,

while the other half is healing my soul,

releasing my pains into words,

capturing moments between phrases

like insects in drops of amber,

a trail that I leave as I live.
